Reading
Choose any fiction short story to read. Create a story map in which you tell the characters, setting, problem, and solution. Then, sequence the important events in the First, Next, Then, Last format. (We will be starting to write our own fiction stories in class so this will help us to recall the structure of a great fiction story.)
Math
Find 10 objects in your home to measure height or length in inches (use a ruler, tape measure, or yard stick). Try to measure objects in a variety of sizes. Tell what the object is, and what part you are measuring.

Read pages 22-27 in Insects. Choose 6 cool facts and make a "fact card" for each. You can use index cards, or just cut pieces of paper. Write the fact on one side and a scientific drawing on the other.

On grid paper (google free graph paper and print!) draw 5 rectangles of any size. Find their perimeter 2 ways-- showing addition for all 4 sides, and using the equation P=2l + 2w. Show all work!!

Tell what happened in the story that makes you think that. Draw a picture of each character on its page.
